European Mobility Programmes

erasmusThe Erasmus+ programme is a European mobility programme for students and staff (both teaching and administrative) of Higher Education Institutions. The main aim of the programme is to broaden educational and professional orientation, to enhance knowledge, to develop skills and competences and, in general, to scientifically promote and familiarize students with the dynamics of the market.

With the aim of providing more qualitative educational services, the department of Home Economics & Ecology continuously exchanges information with its environment (both externally and internally) to respond in the best possible way to growing environmental demands.

Through the process of Erasmus+ and the exchanges, the department promotes the enhancement of students’ knowledge and professional skills, the qualitative upgrade of academic programmes (both undergraduate and postgraduate) and consequently the enhancement and strengthening of students’ educational and professional levels.

For this reason, the department has developed (and continues to develop) effective mechanisms that strengthen its cooperation with other European Higher Education Institutions so as to motivate and indeed attract more students and teaching staff (through incoming and outgoing activities) to contribute actively to the Erasmus+ programme and thus establish it as an integral  part of  the University’s activities.

Within this framework of continuous effort for more qualitative educational services and competitive professional skills, the Department of Home Economics & Ecology has developed an open communication system with  European Universities that strengthens its externality and promotes its interdisciplinary research identity. The development of new partnerships with European Higher Education Institutions is a key objective of the Department. Indeed, in the academic year 2017-2018, the Department presented an impressive dynamic, both in terms of the mobility of its students & teaching staff and in the strength of its inter-university collaborations. The positions offered by the Department for the mobility of students (for both studies and internships) to European host institutions were fully taken. Furthermore, approximately 31% of the Department’s teaching staff also participated in mobility activities. Those students (undergraduates and graduates) who participated in the mobility of studies and internships successfully completed the Erasmus+ program, thus enhancing their educational and professional levels.
